BILL SUMMARY

This bill provides funding for a summer day camp scholarship
fund for children of student parents.

BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:

$2500 from Central Reserve shall be used by the student parents
of school age children in order to provide a scholarship fund.
This fund shall be administered by the Campfire organization and
shall be allocated according to financial aid guidelines.

SECTION 2:

No full scholarships shall be awarded and parents will be
responsible for paying the difference between their scholarship
award and the full cost of a one-week session, $4-5.

SECTION 3:

Scholarship money shall be awarded on a first-come, first-serve
basis as applications are received. Student parents may apply
for any or all of the eight sessions of day camp offered.

SECTION 4:

A student parent shall be defined as a currently enrolled
UCB student or as one enrolled for the fall.

SECTION 5:

This appropriation should not be misconstrued as an ongoing
commitment to this program. This is a one-time expenditure.

SECTION 6:

This bill takes effect upon passage.
