BILL HISTORY There is no draft today in the United States. Draft registration has been ruled invalid by a federal judge. It is not the role of student government to act as a party, particularly a financial part to counseling persons on the feasibility of compliance or resistance to federal laws if they exist, and particularly when they do not exist. BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: We the UCSU fully support the concept of Draft Counseling and civil disobedience when necessary, yet this is a personal discision of each and eveyr individual in our society and our union should not play a role in this decision.
