18 EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BILL 040 March 3, 1983 UNIVERISTY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored By: Arts & Sciences Rep: John Carson A BILL BILL SUMMARY To facilitate CoPIRG's funding at the University of Colorado, Boulder • . ~ BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: CoPIRG shall be immediately allocated a sum of $15,000 to deal with short run cash flow problems. This shall be allocated out of Central Reserve. SECTION 2: CoPIRG shall be guaranteed a separate positive check-off on the optional fee form for as long as it wishes provided it is in good . standing with the UCSU and the University of Colorado at Boulder. SECTION 3: The UCSU shall guarantee CoPIRG the right to mandatory funding under the provisions of UCSU's Constitution, By-Laws and Standing Rules. This right can only be enacted however upon successful conclusion of a referendum process overseen by UCSU and carried out in an official UCSU election. SECTION 4: UCSU shall at CoPIRG's request place a neutral and unbiased question on an election ballot to facilitate a student vote on the question of mandatory funding for CoPIRG. However, CoPIRG shall of course retain the right to place a question of its choosing on the ballot following the collection of the required number of signatures. This process must be repeated every two years. SECTION 5: This bill shall become effective upon passage. March 3, 1983- WITHDRAWN
