Amends the Standing Rules. BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: An Article XVII. EDUCATION OF MEMBERS shall be added to The Standing Rules of Executive Council of the UCSU. SECTION 2: The text of the Article shall read as follows: "Section 1: Each newly elected/appointed Council member shall, under the guidance of the Vice-President Pro-Tempore, be required, within three weeks of his/her election/appointment, to meet with the following UCSU members: a. b. c. d. THE PRO-TEMPORE - Who shall explain Council procedures and functions. THE PARLIAMENTARIAN - Who shall explain Robert's Rules. Either THE SPEAKER OR REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL OR THE CHAIR OF LOCAL SCHOOLS (whichever is appropriate) - Who shall explain the Joint Boards, Committees, and present legislation. THE FINANCE DIRECTOR- Who shall explain the budget & finance. Section 2: The Vice-President Pro-Tempore shall distribute a familiarization packet to each of the newly elected/appointed Council members. The packet shall contain: The UCSU Constitution and By-Laws, the UCSU Election Code, the Executive Council Standing Rules, the UCSU Student Fee Guidelines, the UCSU/Chancellor Working Agreement, a roster of Joint Board, Standing and Ad-hoc Committee chairs and members, Joint Board and Committee By-Laws, a roster of current Executive Council members and Executives, a roster of all student administrators, administrative assistants and UCSU office staff." SECTION 3: This legislation shall take effect upon passage.
