September 1, 1983 19 Executive Council Bill /121 UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored By: Vice Pro-Tempore Bill Tucker A BILL BILL HISTORY The UMC Food Service Renovation Project is designed to respond to needed renovation of our 30 year old University Memorial Center and to increase available space to respond to a concomitant rise in building utilization. Students overwhelmingly supported the solar retrofit referendum, and the Cini-Grissom Report underscored the imperative need for food services facility renovation. BILL SUMMARY To proceed with the UMC Solar Retrofit/Food Service Renovation BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: The UMC Food Service Renovation Project be implemented immediately. SECTION 2: That the total cost of the UMC/FSR Project not exceed $5 million, the funding to be secured through the sale of revenue bonds by the Board of Regents (these bonds not to be tied to any other issue). Ideally said bonds shall mature in 20 years, and shall be guaranteed by a combination of student fees and profits generated through building utilization (i.e., a partially selfliquidating bond).
