BILL SUMMARY
To establish a Blue-Ribbon Panel to independently assess the differential tuition
proposal of the Regents of the University of Colorado.
BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:

In response to the Board of Regents proposal that a differential
tuition be assessed at the University of Colorado, the UCSU will
conduct an independent study to accertain the impact of the
aforementioned proposal upon students.

SECTION 2:

The panel shall consist of members of the Higher Education
community (i.e., Administrators, Faculty and Students). The
panel shall conduct a differential tuition study and report its·
findings to UCSU.

SECTION 3:

The panel shall assess the impact of a differential tuition
assessment in terms of: financial aid, state funding for higher
education, and so forth and so on, keeping in mind that the issue
has statewide ramifications.

SECTION 4:

The UCSU shall bear the cost of this undertaking, and shall
provide such services as are required periodically.

SECTION 5:

This legislation shall become effective upon passage by the
Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union.

SECTION 6:

This bill will take effect upon passage.
