This money shall go towards flyers, ads and banners. BILL HISTORY On October 15, 1983, an encirclement of the Rocky Flats bomb plant is being planned. The students of the University of Colorado, Boulder have long been concerned about the arms race. On four separate occasions, they have demonstrated their attitudes through the referendum process. This bill shall allcoate money to a UCSU program giving students access to the information regarding the encirclement and to bring members of the student union together representing UCSU at Rocky Flats. BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: WHEREAS: Four referendums have been passed reagarding the arms race: 1. I favor closing Rocky Flats as a nuclear bomb plant and converting it to the non-polluting production of peaceful materials; and I request that our federal and state legislators be informed of the results of this vote. PASSED: 2466-987, February 1979 2. PASSED: February 1983 Total Vote-2728 Yes-1562 No-1166 WHEREAS: UCSU has a membership of over 20,000, comprising a 4 large part of the community in the vacinity of Rocky Flats. 19ecb 1126 Page 2 SECTION 1: UCSU shall allocate $400.00 for a UCSU sponsored program regarding the encirclement. This allocation shall distribute information in the form of ads, flyers and banners. This money shall be allcoated from Executive Council Reserve. SECTION 2: A committee made up of 3 council members, a member of SANE and a member of CU World Citizens shall oversee the expenditure.
