A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS:

The ambiguity of Regent Fowler's resolution imposes
on the administration the responsibility of establishing and
assessing differential tuition rates, without proper justification; and,

WHEREAS:

Basing tuition on actual education costs would result in
expensive and unnecessary burdens on the administration; and,

WHEREAS:

Basing tuition on starting salaries, career opportunities
and related ill-defined criteria is both unworkable and
unnecessary; and,

WHEREAS:

Expanded use of differential tuition would further divide
an already segmented student population along educational,
social, and economic lines.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Executive Council of the University of
Colorado Student Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:

We strongly oppose differential tuition on the basis
outlined in Regent Fowler's resolution (see attached).

SECTION 2:

We support the UCB student body position paper.
