A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS: UCSU recognizes the importance of a strong intercollegiate athletic
program not only for recruitment of students, but for school spirit
and na tiona! recognition; and,
WHEREAS:The University of Colorado is trying to rebuild its men's basketball
program almost from sera tch, and in doing so is emulating other
outstanding programs throughout the nation, like Kansas, Georgetown,
Kentucky, and others; and,

WHEREAS: As a non-basketball oriented school, we as students admire the
accomplishments of those schools that have outstanding programs; and,
WHEREAS:The University of Indiana men's basketball team defeated Syracuse
University Monday night to win the NCAA title for 1987, 74-73,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by Executive Council of the University of Colorado
Student Union, THAT:
Section 1:

Our heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS be sent to the University of
Indiana Men's Basketball Team via the student government,
for their truly incredible achievement.

Section 2:

This Resolution takes effect upon passage.
