BILL HISTORY

Financial Aid is a concern of over 50% of students on campus, yet it remains a
process in which students feel they have little control. UCSU has the opportunity
to send a student, SA to Financial Aid Vicky Powell, to a conference sposored by
the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. Financial Aid
Drector Jerry Sullivan and his two associate directors will also be attending. The
conference will be held in Washington D.C., July 22-25 and will address specific
issues for financial aid staffs (see agenda). During the conference there will be an
opportunity for attendees to speak with the members of the Colorado Delegation
about funding for higher education, specifically financial aid. This conference
provides a unique venue for financial aid education which will directly benefit a
majority of the student population.
BILL SUMMARY

This bill allocates $450.06 for Vicky Powell to go to the NASFAA Conference in
Washington D.C. July 22-25, 1987.

BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:

SECTION 1:

An amount not to exceed $450.06 from Central Reserve to fund
Vicky Powell attending the NASFAA Conference July 22-25, 1987
in the budget provided.

SECTION 2:

Any money not used for the conference will be rebated to Central
Reserve.

SECTION 3:

A report on this conference will be presented to council by August
20, 1987.

SECTION 4:

This bill takes effect upon passage.
