BILL HISTORY
Local schools council has proven itself to be an effective funding mechanism in the
past. Questions have been raised in the past as to where the money for local
schools should come from. This bill would solve the funding question and guarna tee
the local schools council $10,000 per year to fund to small student groups who
otherwise wouldn't get funded. Of course, as a referendum, the final say will be up
to the students.
BILL SUMMARY
A student referendum asking the students to allow 25¢ of their student fees to be
used to fund Local Schools Council.
BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union THAT:
SECTION 1:

The following shall be inserted on the Fall 1987 Ballot as a
referendum: "Would you be willing to add 25¢ to your
student fees to be used to fund Local Schools Council.
· The funds will be allocated to student groups pursuant to
Local School by-laws."

SECTION 2:

This student referendum will last for 2 years, and will be
renewed on the Fall 1989 Ballot.
