Pacheco Vicky Powell BILL HISTORY CU-Boulder is mandated to have a published guide of employer and employee rights and responsibilities. To fulfill this requirement the Office of Financial Aid has traditionally coordinated the publication of the Student Employment Handbook which has not been updated in over 4 years. In those 4 years, UCS U has been involved in the revision of the handbook through the Student Employment Advisory Committee, with the understanding and approval that UCSU and the Office of Financial Aid would jointly fund the publication of the handbook. UCSU is committed to promoting a good working relationship between student employees and their university employers and to that end it would be advantagous to publish the Student Employment Handbook as soon as possible. BILL SUMMARY This bill allocates $850.00 + GAR to be paid to the Office of Financial Aid for the publication of the Student Employment Handbook. BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University Colorado Student Union THAT: SECTION 1: An amount not to exceed $889.19 from Central Reserve will be transferred to the Office of Finan·c ial Aid to fund the Student Employment Handbook, with the understanding that UCSU is funding half of the publication costs and any money unused will be returned to Central Reserve. SECTION 2: All student groups who receive special event funding shall submit a written report to be turned in to the Pro-Tempore and kept on file for access. The Report shall include the following: 1) General overview of the events and the phases of that event, 2) attendance of all phases of the event, 3) did the group sponsoring the event feel they accomplished their goals set forth prior to the event, 4) a detailed account of expenditures. This report shall be submitted within 30 days of the end of the event. Failure to do so may jeopardize future funding from UCS U Executive Council. · SECTION 3: This council wishes to express its concern in the funding of this issue and in the future hope the administration will recognize its responsibility in this matter. 27 EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BILL //24 - Page 2 This bill takes effect upon passage.
