BILL HISTORY
The Public Relations Student Society of America is celebrating their 20th birthday
this November. This group has been on campus over five years and has a growing
membership. The group is currently involved ln doing an internship for the Lung
Association here in Boulder and is active in bringing professional speakers to
campus.
In conjunction with their 20th birthday, PRSSA and PRSA (the professional
organization) are holding their 1987 National Conference on November 7-9 in Los
Angeles, CA.
The confere·n ce will include panel discussions, skills workshops, professional
development sessions and discussions with top professionals. The conference will
also allow CU Boulder PRSSA chapter members to meet with oth_er chapter leaders
to exchange ideas and experiences~
The CU Boulder chapter of PRSSA would like to send four representatives to the
conference to show the university's involvement and to bring back the knowledge a
professional conference can give to students.
BILL SUMMARY
This bill allocates $440.00 plus GAR from Central Reserve for airfare for two
members of PRSSA to attend the 1987 PRSSA na-tional conference.
BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union THAT:
SECTION 1:

An amount not t~ exceed $440.00 plus GAR be allocated from
Central Reserve for airfare for two members to the 1987
PRSSA national conference.

SECTION 2:

In accordance with 27 ECB 115 a written report will be turned
in to the Executive Council President Pro-Tempore and kept
on file for access.

The report shall include the following: 1) General
overview of

the events and the phases of that event, 2)
attendance of all
phases of the event, 3) did the group sponsoring the
event
feel they accomplished their goals set forth prior
to the event,
4) a detailed account of expenditures.
This report shall be submitted within 30 days of the
end of the
event. Failure to do so may jeopardize future
funding from
UCSU Executive Council.
SECTION 3:

This bill takes effect upon passage.
BUDGET

Registration Fee, $100/person
Hotel (quad at the Biltmore), $120/night
Round-trip airfare (United) @ $220/each
