Jones BILL HISTORY The Colorado Advocate, for nearly a twentieth of a century (three years), has provided the law school and the university community with insightful and quality coverage of issues in the law as well as activities and events at the Law School. In its first year of existence the Advocate won recognition from the American Bar Association as the best law school newspaper in the country. During the 1987-88 academic term the newspaper was once again recognized as an outstanding student newspaper, winning awards in several categories. The Advocate plans to publish five isues during the 1988-89 term, printing 2,000 copies with distribution across campus and in the community. The Executive Council, by passing this bill, will play a significant role in supporting this year's newspaper. BILL SUMMARY This bill, upon passage would allocate $900 plus GAR in order to assist with the costs of producing the Colorado Advocate Student Newspaper. BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union THAT: SECTION 1: The Colorado Advocate be allocated $900 plus GAR from the Executive Council fund to assist with the publication of the Colorado Advocate.
