During the August debate on whether or not UCSU should maintain its membership
in the United States Student Association, many Council members expressed
reservation at casting a vote because of the lack of information available.
So, in order that the students can air their views, and there is no guesswork
involved, we would like to put this to a vote of the entire student body.
BILL SUMMARY
This bill places the question of UCSU membership in USSA on the Fall 1988 UCSU
Election ballot.
BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:

The UCSU Election Commissioner be instructed to place the
following question on the Fall 1988 UCSU Election ballot:
"Shall the University of Colorado Student Union
continue its yearly membership in the United
States Student Association?
Yes

No"

SECTION 2:

This vote of the students shall be binding, for a period of one
academic year, ending July 31, 1989.

SECTION 3:

This legislation takes effect upon passage.
