The activities of the group have become well known on campus and in the Boulder Community, and through events such as the recent World Rainforest Week the R.A.G. has educated and motivated a significant number of people as to the importance of the pressing critical global issue. An important converence and action coalition strategy building session will take place Nov. 18-22, 1988; at the University of Washington in Seattle. Hosted by the Chinook Learning center, "Decade of the Rainforest: Strategies for Tropical and Temperate Survival'' will be the first . effort to unify issues of Tropical and Temperate Deforestation. Following the Conference will be a two day planning session on Key Environmentialists, Activists, and Educators, to formulate and intergrate strategy for the Preservation of Regional Forests Worldwide. Several highly noted researchers, writers, and organizers will make presentations at the conference, as well as lead workshops. It is an excellent opportunity for members of the R.A.G. to gain further insight into the natures and complexities of the rainforest crisis, which will make the R.A.G. an even more effective and useful group on cam pus. By covering two of the $218.00 airfares, this bill would make it possible for Annie Szvetecz, Andrea Luchase, Brad Lewis and Rob Grantham to attend the converence (please see itemized personal budget attached). None of these students are graduating this semester and all are firmly dedicated to developing the activities and impact of the R.A.G. at C.U. in the future.
