29 EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BILL 036 October 27, 1988 UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored by: Engineering Representative Les Lambert Authored by: Engineering Representative A BILL Les Lambert BILL HISTORY AIChE, The chemical engineering society, has been active at the University of Colorado for several decades. AIChE exists to foster exchange between those interested in Chemical engineering and professional engineers. AIChE holds seminars and conducts tours to serve this purpose. Regional and national conventions for AIChE are held every year. The regional convention was held last spring in North Dakota. A large representation from CU was managed through the raising of outside funds. The year's fall convention is a national convention to be held in Washington D.C. from November 26-28 at the Holiday Inn Capitol. The convention's objectives are to: raise the leadership skills of student delegates: sponsor career workshops: provide a forum for chemical engineering research papers: and to involve the students in a student paper competition. CU will present papers at the convention. AIChE feels that a strong representation will enable CU's chapter to gain recognition. BILL SUMMARY This bill will allocate an amount not to exceed $64-0.00 to fund airfare and lodging for 2 members of AIChE.
