BILL HISTORY
The members of the Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity of the University of
Colorado would like to request funds to attend the annual Council of Logistics
Management Educational Conference in Boston, MA from Oct. 9- 12, 1988.
This is the only conference of the year in which .2,500 of the most influential
executives of the top domestic and international transportation and other major
corporations attend. Representatives will be present from such corporations as
General Motors, Keebler, United Air Lines, and Proctor and Gamble. There will be
Budgeting, Human Resorce Management, Forecasting & Inventory Management,
and Electronic Data Interchange Applications. Last year four members of the
Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity had the opportunity to attend this
conference. Two of those members, Joe McCreary and Michelle LeBlance made
contacts with company representatives and enabled U of C to attract a greater
number of recruiters. Company, ABF Freight Lines, and Hewlett-Packard
Company were so impressed with the four attending members that they came to
the Universtiy of Colorado campus to interview not only transportation majors, but
also marketing, finance, communication, english and economic majors.
Besides furthering the development and understanding of the
Transportation/Logistics Concept, the conference will enable us to gain exposure
·to the water transportation industry.
This year Delta Nu Alpha plans on bringing an additional underclassman to gain

experience that will result in greater continuity for years to come.
BILL SUMMARY
This Bill allocates $700.00 plus GAR for airfare for two members of Delta Nu
Alpha to attend the Council of Logistics Management Education Conference.
BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
·Union, THAT:

SECTION 1:

An amount not to exceed $700.00 to be allocated from Central
Reserve to fund airfare.

SECTION 2:

A written report summarizing the ,conference will be
submitted within one month pursuant to 24 ECB //4 •
