The International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi's Alpha Rho Chapter has been . active on this campus since 1926. It is the fourth largest chapter in the nation with a membership of 1726. The current active status of 74 male and female individuals makes it one of the largest student organizations within the Business School. This organization is a collection of motivated, inspired students involved in many outside organizations within the university. Actives are required to participate in a minimal of 3 professional activities, and at least 1 community service project per semester. Delta Sigma Pi co-sponsored an all school FAC with the Journalism School last spring semester illustrating campus involvement. Two members of the Delta Sigma Pi Executive Council have been asked to attend a Leadership School at Loyola Marymount University on July 22-24, 1988 in Los Angeles, California. At the Leadership School such topics as leadership dynamics, communication dynamics, and management planning techniques will be discussed and role played within the different seminars offered. The costs have been budgeted according to the Student Finance Office and James Travel. Transportation costs will be zero since the hotel offers shuttle bus transportation. The meals, registration, and lodging expenses have been met by the Business School Dean's Fund. The exclusion of the airfare costs would prohibit the opportunity to attend the Leadership School. The cost for airfare through the Student Finance office is $258 per person round trip. The attendence at this conference will directly and indirectly help the students at the university become better leaders. BILL SUMMARY This bill allocates $516 + GAR (23.79) = $539.79 to pay for two round trip tickets to Los Angeles, California. The airfare will enable two members of Delta Sigma Pi to attend a leadership school on July 22-24. 29 EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BILL /16 - Page 2 BE IT ENACTED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: The goals and objectives of the trip are to send two members of the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi to help students of the University of Colorado become better leaders. SECTION 2: The purpose of this allocation is to pay only airfare expenses to enable two members of Delta Sigma Pi to attend the Leadership school which formal invitation has been sent. SECTION 3: An amount not to exceed $539.79 (516 + GAR) shall be allocated from Central Reserve to Delta Sigma Pi's general fund to pay for airfare to the Leadership School in Los Angeles, California on July 22-24, 1988. SECTION 4: A written report about the conference will be submitted to the Executive Council in accordance to 24 ECB /14.
