WHEREAS:

There is no policy mandating that Executive Council members
be present for first or last roll call; and,

. If Executive Council members are absent during significant

portions of meetings, students are not represented; and,
WHEREAS:

Since the current attendance policy has gone into effect,
there have been Executive Council members who have been
late 6 times and absent for late roll 5 times; and,

WHEREAS:

There is no policy for excusing absences, la tes or late
absences. THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Executive Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:

SECTION 1:

Any Executive Council member late or absent for late roll
a total of 3 times will have 1 absence added to her /his
attendance record.

SECTION 2:

Executive Council members missing both first and last roll
will be counted absent for that meeting.

SECTION 3:

Executive Council members absent for 3 votes in one meeting
will be counted absent for that meeting.

SECTION 4:

The President Pro-tempore of the Executive Council will have
the power to excuse absences, lates, and absences for late
roll under the following conditions:
a. illness
b. test or manditory academic functions
c. UCSU business
d. emergency
e. work

SECTION 5:

All written excuses will be kept on file and will be available
to Executive Council members.

SECTION 6:

In the event of an impeachment hearing, only written excuses
will be considered for excusing absences. The Executive
Council will have the right to determine whether or not the
explanation given in the written excuse constitutes an excused
absence.

SECTION 7:

In the event that a Local Schools Council representative
violates these guidelines, the Executive Council will have
the duty to notify the appropriate Loeal'Schools Board.

SECTION 8:

This resolution will take effect on passage and be binding.
