Chris Drummond Phil Pastan A BILL BILL HISTORY This is a proposal requesting funds concerning the Interna tiona! Council of Shopping Centers. For the past few years, Dr. Clyde Richey, chairman of the Real Estate Department at C.U., has been receiving invitations for real estate students to attend their annual convention. The convention is an annual event consisting of a number of classes concerning different phases of real estate development. The courses are taught by successful people in the field. This program will allow a few interested students at C.U. to participate in their week long seminars. The package of courses that the students will be given, hold a total value of $1,960 for each student. However, the total package does not include transportation or boarding costs. The students of the C.U. Real Estate Association (CUREA) will not only be gaining incredible knowledge through the courses, but they will also have the opportunity to estdblish a strong rapore among the people in the national business community. ~.·he two representatives from C UREA will have further objectives. The objecL ves will be: to encourage further participation in this university, i.e. funding, guest speakers, and field knowledge. Their objectives will be under the direction of Dr. Richey to establish a strong relationship with these professionals so that we can integrate them into the field. The 1.989 convention will take place in Dallas, Texas, at the Fairmont Hotel, January 29 to February 2. It will offer about 70 different courses all taught by the most knowledgeable experts in their respective fields; in development, financing, leasing, retailing and operations in general. This is our best chance to take advantage of the educa tiona! opportunity and campaign for the university. BILL SUMMARY This bill shall allocate $568.72 + GAR to fund 1 R/T airfare ticket and five nights lodging for two CUREA representatives to attend the ICSC conference Jan. 29Feb. 2, 1989. BE IT.ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: An amount not to exceed $568.72 + GAR be allocated from Central Reserve to pay for 1 R/T airfare to Dallas and 5 nights lodging for the Jan 29- Feb. 5, 1989 ICSC conference. SECTION 2: A written report will be submitted pursuant to 24 ECB 114.
