)> March 2, 1989 30 LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL BILL 1/37 UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored by: Representative-at-Large Robert Ervais Authored by: American Movement for Israel (AMI) Peter Yolles A BILL BILL HISTORY As the internal turmoil in Israel increases due to the Palestinian Intifadah, questions of political and ethical rights emerge. It is now more important than ever for the American public, as Israel's main' ally, to be correctly informed of the current situation in Israel. There are obviously many sides to the debate. The American Movement for Israel feels that there is a lack of correct information, and perhaps even ignorance in the campus community, to the actual background and present status of the Arab-Israeli debate. In order for Americans to make their own individual decisions, they need contrasting in forma t.ion. The speaker we propose to bring will give the campus community knowledge enabling it to judge theĀ· debate for themselves. Ilan Mor is an Israeli now working at the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles.
