BILL HISTORY
Due to the shift in Financial Aid from grants and work-study monies to loans, the
student loan program has taken on increasing importance to the students attending
CU-Boulder. Fortunately, both Bob Forner, director of the Colorado Student Loan
Program (CSLP) and Jerry Sullivan, director of Financial Aid for CU-Boulder are
actively seeking student input. In light of this Rick Ball and Stephanie Knudson
attended the August 31st CSLP directors' meeting.

Many issues of interest to CU students were discussed at this meeting including
differential insurance rates, better communication between the CSLP and students,
a one time application, and Title IV renewal.
Rick Ball was asked to serve on the Student Task Force at CSLP. He agreed.
Further, Rick was asked to attend the CSLP policy Conference Sept. 20, 21, and 22
in Vail, CO to represent student interests. CSLP will waive his application fee.
BILL SUMMARY
This bill will allocate $125.00 + GAR for Rick Ball to attend the CSLP policy
conference Sept. 20, 21 and 22.
BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:

SECTION 1:

An amount not to exceed $125.00 + GAR be allocated from
Central Reserve for Rick Ball to attend the CSLP Policy
Conference.

SECTION 2:

A written report will be submitted pursuant to 24 ECB f/4.

SECTION 3:

This bill takes effect upon passage.

BUDGET
Registration fee @$45 x 1 (covered by CSLP)
Lodging @ $70.00 per day for 2 days (covered by CSLP)
Meals @ $25.00 per day
