BILL HISTORY
On July 29, 1989 UCSU became a member of the United States Student Association
(USSA) by virtue of its membership in the Colorado Student Association.
Accordingly, UCSU sent a delegation of three to USSA's National Congress, held in
Berkeley, California August 4 - 9. At the Congress, Julie O'Brian was elected to
the National Board of Directors as a Regional Director for the Rocky Mountain
Region.
The Board of Directors meets five times during the year between National
Congresses, to set priorities for action and direct the nation's largest student
organization. As Colorado's lone member of the Board, and CU's first director in
two years, Julie provides a voice for the students of this state and this University
in determining the course of USSA and the work done on education issues in the
nation's Capitol.
The first board of directors meeting will be held October 13-15 in Washington, D.C.
at the national office of USSA.

BILL SUMMARY
This bill allocates a sum not to exceed $300.00 + GAR to send Julie O'Brian to the
USSA Board of Directors meeting in Washington D.C., October 13-15.
BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:
This bill allocates $300.00 + GAR from Central Reserve to
help fund sending Julie O'Brian to the Board of Directors
meeting for U.S.S.A. as a representative from Rocky Mountain
Region, Colorado, and UCSU.
SECTION 2:
A written report will be presented pursuant to 24 ECB 114.
SECTION 3:
Julie will present to the Board of Directors of USSA any
concerns agreed upon by UCSU.
SECTION 4:
This bill takes effect upon passage.
BUDGET
Airfare (Denver to Washington D.C.) and Lodging
Food (personal contribution) $25/day x 3 days
