Yet the Constitution does not reflect this shift, the following proposed Constitutional amendment will rectify this situation, giving both the Executive and Legislative branch greater freedom in determining what commissions and student administrators are necessary for the functioning of UCSU. BILL SUMMARY This bill will place a constitutional amendment on the October 1989 election ballot for student approval. BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: The following Constitutional amendment shall be placed on the October 1989 Election ballot. A). Article VIII of the Constitution shall be stricken and replaced with: Commissions and Student Administrators shall be established by the Executive with majority approval of Legislative Council. B). Legislative Council may establish Commissions or Student Administrators by a 2/3 vote. C). Each Commissioner and SA shall be appointed by the Executive and ratified by majority vote of Legislative Council.
