July 20, 1989 31 LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL BILL US UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored by: Represen ta ti ves-a t-Lar ge Rick Ball Adam Kaplin Authored by: Represen ta ti ve-a t-Large A BILL Rick Ball BILL HISTORY During the past few months the students at the University of Colorado at Boulder have seen the cost of attending the University increase drastically. UCSU has worked hard to contain these rising costs. Unfortunately, we have been only partially sucessful. We, as members of the student body and as elected student representatives have a responsibility to inform the students a !tending C U-Boulder and their parents about these costs. Therefore, we have drafted a letter to be sent to the permanent addresses of all students attending CU-Boulder. The cost of mailing this letter is roughly $4500.00 dollars. Letting the entire student body know about the expected increases in the Fall is one of the best uses of student fees that Legislative Council can make. We will be serving the entire student body at a cost of less then 20 cents per student or less then .1% of their student fees. If we are to faithfully serve the student body, we must keep them informed. BILL SUMMARY This bill shall allocate $3000.00 + GAR from the Central Reserve to fund a mailing of an information letter to all permanent mailing addresses of the students attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: An amount not to exceed $3000.00 + GAR will be allocated from Central Reserve for a campus wide mailing.
