A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS:

Lt. Col. William Higgins was assasina ted for being an
American; and,

WHEREAS:

The Student Body of CU and the American Public are shocked
by this act of barbarism; and,

WHEREAS:

There are still eight Americans held hostage in the Middle
East. THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:

SECTION 1:

We are adamantly opposed to the murder of innocent people
for political gain.

SECTION 2:

We call for the immediate release of all hostages.

SECTION 3:

We call for a peaceful solution to the severe problems of
the Middle East.

SECTION 4:

We lend our support and condolences to the families of the
hostages particularly the wife of Lt. Col. Higgins.

SECTION 5:

This resolution takes effect upon passage.
