A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS:

The students of the University of Colorado exist not only
as individuals, but, also as a community, and

WHEREAS:

The Student Union was created to unify the students in the
ensurance of student rights, and

WHEREAS:

The Univeristy of Colorado Student Union's Constitution
recognizes the rights of individuals to be free from
discrimination based on sexual orientation.

WHEREAS:

Currently the non-discrimination policy of the Laws of the
Laws of the Regents does not include a sexual orientation
clause, and

WHEREAS:

This omission infringes on the rights of students, faculty
and staff at the University of Colorado, at Boulder.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student
Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:
SECTION 2:
SECTION 3:

SECTION 1:We strongly urge the Regents to adopt a policy that protects
the rights of individuals to be free from discrimination based
on sexual orientation.
SECTION 2:Every Regent of the University of Colorado will receive a
copy of this Resolution.
SECTION 3:Upon passage this resolution becomes the basis for the official
opinion of the Student Union.
