September 27, 1990 33 Legislative council Bill #18 UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO STUDENT UNION Sponsored by: Representative-at-Large Co-Executive Mary Lee Julie O'Brian Authored by: Representative-at-Large Mary Lee A BILL BILL HISTORY On July 29, 1989, UCSU became a member of the United States Student Association (USSA) by virtue of its membership in the Colorado student Association. Accordingly, UCSU has been sending delegates to USSA's National Student Congress. This year eight delegates were sent to NSC in Las Vegas, Nevada, July 29-August 3, 1990. At the Congress, ~ary Lee, B.J. War Club, and Kathryn White were elected to the National Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets four times during the year between the National Congresses, to set priorities for action and direct our nations largest student organization. Mary, B. J. and Kathryn provide a voice for the students of the state and this University in determining the course of USSA and the work done on education issues in the nation's capitol. The first Board of Director's Meeting of the year will be held October 25-28 in Washington, D.C. at the national office of USSA. BILL SUMMARY This bill allocates a sum not to exceed $1,323 + GAR to send Mary Lee, B.J. War Club, and Kathryn White to the USSA Board of Directors Meeting in Washington, D.C., October 25-28. BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative council of the University of Colorado student Union, THAT: SECTION 1: This bill allocates $1,323 + GAR from Central Reserve to help fund sending Mary Lee, B.J. War Club, and Kathryn White to the Board of Directors Meeting for U.S.S.A. as a representative from 33 Legislative Council Bill #18 - page 2 SECTION 4: This bill takes effect upon passage.
