BILL HISTORY
The purpose of this fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, is to assemble
college students in a National Service Fraternity in the fellowship
of the principles of the Boy Scouts of America, to develop
leadership, to promote friendship, to provide service to humanity,
and to further the freedom that is our national, educational, and
intellectual heritage.
Every two years, the fraternity holds a
national convention not only to decide the important issues of the
day, but also to share their concepts of the fraternity through
informal gatherings held throughout the three-day meeting.
The
convention's legislative body decides on all proposed amendments
to our bylaws, rituals, and so forth. The delegates also elect our
National Board of Officers.
The National Convention will be held in St. Louis, Missouri from
December 27, 1990- December 31, 1990. This year Gamma Theta, the
cu Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, is expecting approximately 8 members
of the Chapter to attend.
The registration fee per person is .
$30.00 plus a $35.00 per person banquet fee.
We are expecting to ·
make at least $800.00 this semester in fund raising to help fund
the event and are therefore asking ucsu to pay for the banquet and
registration fees, leaving Alpha Phi Omega to pay for the hotel
accommodations, transportation, and food.
BILL SUMMARY
This bill shall allocate an amount not to exceed $520.00 + GAR
towards the funding of registration & banquet fees for 8 APO
members to attend the Alpha Phi Omega National Convention on
December 27-31, 1990 in st. Louis, Missouri.
BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of
Colorado Student Union, THAT:
SECTION 1:

This bill allocates an amount not to exceed $520.00
+ GAR towards funding for registration and banquet
fees for 8 APO members to attend the Alpha Phi Omega
National Convention on December 27-31, 1990 in St.
Louis, Missouri.

SECTION 2:

A written report shall be submitted pursuant to
24ECB#4.

SECTION 3:

This bill takes effect upon passage.

Dear Kimber and UCSU,
I am writing on behalf of Alpha Phi Omega to thank you for the
funds allocated to us in order to attend our National
Convention.
Eight members attended the convention in St.
Louis, Missouri from December 26th through the 31st.
Thanks to
your funding we were able to attend valuable workshops, meet
hundreds of other members of Alpha Phi Omega, and bring back
new and exciting ideas to our chapter.
This experience was
very memorable and inspiring and we really appreciate the
financial assistance.
