Bill
History
According to the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning
& Engagement (CIRCLE), in the 2000 presidential election, only 36% of
eligible 18-24 year olds voted throughout the country, and in Colorado just 30%
turned out. In addition, nationally,
only 51% of this demographic is registered to vote. There are multiple explanations for these disappointing figures
ranging from moving often to being unfamiliar with the registration process. The New Voters Project intends to register 6,600
University of Colorado at Boulder students by the upcoming election’s
deadline.
