A Bill
Bill
History
The UCSU has had a long standing commitment to minimizing
pesticide use on campus. This is
highlighted by the passage of 54LCR05 and 59LCR16 which ask the university to
stop their use of pesticides in favor of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
policy which uses sustainable and natural methods of pest control. The IPM policy of the university has been
violated numerous times in favor of immediate and toxic methods of pest
control. These pesticide applications
have put the safety and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and the greater
Boulder community at risk. The use of
pesticides near UCSU controlled buildings represents a safety threat for people
approaching the student union’s buildings.
