A Bill to Amend the SGFB Code


Bill History

 This bill would permit the SGFB Director to begin funding groups before the SGFB can meet to fund groups or after the funding process is completed.


This was passes as an Emergency Act of the Legislative Council.  It shall cease to have any effect six months from this date, September 21, 2006.

THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED:

 

Section 1:  The following shall be inserted as section 505 of the SGFB Code:

 

Section 505:  Provisional Funds

1)      The Director of the SGFB may allocate up to five percent of the SGFB’s annual appropriation to carry out this section.

2)      The Director may make a one time allocation, up to $500, per fiscal year per eligible student group, if;

a)      The student group intends to apply for SGFB funds but requires immediate funding to sustain the group until the funding process is completed.  The Director of the SGFB shall allocate the minimum amount necessary to sustain the group through the funding process in sections 501 through 504.

b)      The student group was formed after the application deadline.

3)      The Director of the SGFB shall maintain records and shall inform the SGFB of all allocations made under this section.

4)      The Director of the SGFB shall apply the same guidelines, regulations, and standards to funding decisions under this section as the SGFB would apply under this code.

 

Section 2:  This bill shall take effect upon passage by the Legislative Council and either obtaining the signatures of the Tri-Executives or inaction by the Tri-Executives.
