A RESOLUTION

___________________________________________________________________________                                                      Resolution History

“University 101” is a course that is in its developmental stages.  The primary goals of “University 101” is to advance entering first-year students’ knowledge of the university community as a site for intellectual development, and to develop a multifaceted understanding of human differences as experienced in and around the university context. “University 101” serves as a course that will focus on the university as a social construct and its human diversity.  This course will be introduced as a one-year pilot program after which it may be implemented as a course for credit that all first year students are required to take. This course has been discussed and worked on by the last few legislative council sessions, Tri-executives and student organization leaders since the beginning of its inception. There is a need for the course, “University 101,” and has been for some time; it is great to see it finally coming together.
