BILL HISTORY
The United Government of
Graduate Students (UGGS) and the Graduate Student Association at Colorado
(GSAC) (both organizations are currently referred to as UGGS) act not only as
the Graduate School local government but also as an organization for all
graduate and professional students at the University of Colorado at
Boulder. Through UGGS’ many events it
harbors a positive environment for graduate and professional students to learn
and grow as a community. Several events
that occurred last session; including the UGGS’ welcome picnic, the UGGS’
orientation (the only orientation available to many incoming graduate and
professional students since is no formal orientation is offered by the graduate
school itself), the UGGS’ information fair for new students, the meet the
regent candidate forum and many more, have brought national acclaim to UGGS and
the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Namely, the National Association for Graduate and Professional Students
(NAGPS) has honored UGGS for these events and others by awarding UGGS the NAGPS
Award for Outstanding GSA for Legislative and Advocacy Programs. The UCSU wishes to congratulate UGGS for its
efforts by supporting UGGS’ Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) from
April 2, 2007 through April 6, 2007.
