The Student Group Funding Board (SGFB) as described in Section 102 of its code is ‘responsible for allocating operating funds to student groups at the University of Colorado.’ As such it is the purpose of this bill to exemplify the purpose of the formation and continuation of the board in the form of attaining approval for the budgets student groups have submitted and the board approved. In the Section 124 of the SGFB code titled ‘Legislative Council Approval’ the board is required to obtain the Legislative Council’s approval of the sum budget. As such this bill is being put forth for council’s discussion and voting action.
Bill Summary
WHEREAS: The SGFB, a board charged with the allocations of operational expenditures for the University of Colorado at Boulder’s student groups, seeks to distribute the funds voted upon by the board to our constituents. Student Groups configured within the sum amount revealed in Total Approved Amount section of Appendix A (attached document) is funding voted upon by SGFB board members. The voting process of SGFB as stipulated in Section 124, with respect to sub-section (a), has been completed and as such the budget put forth before council was attained through board majority vote. Thus as stipulated by Section 124 of the SGFB Code this budget sum $224,001.56 is being submitted before the Legislative Council for approval.
THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Council of the University of Colorado Student Union, the following Sections shall be binding as they are agreed upon.
SECTION 1: The Legislative Council hereby authorizes the allocation of the total amount as enumerated in Appendix A ($224,001.56), herein attached as referenced.
SECTION 2: This bill takes effect immediately upon passage of Legislative Council with allocations being given for 2007-2008 fiscal year.
